The St. Simon Parish Life Group hosted the biennual auction and dinner dance. Auction 2011, a Venetian Masquerade, was on February 26, 2011 at Villa Ragusa in Campbell, CA. The fabulous night of fun and fundraising, raised over $185,000 for our Parish and School. The Auction Committee, including the 2011 Auction Co-Chairs Maria Crowder Zubrick and Sharyn Skudneski, would like to thank the entire community of St. Simon for supporting the 2011 Parish Life Group (PLG) Auction!
Guests arrived at the Venetian Masquerade and wandered through the palazzo of silent auction offerings while Italian music played in the background. The live auction provided the entertainment with a multimedia presentation and plenty of pizzazz, drama, and live auction bidding! An Italian inspired dinner was served and after dessert, guests enjoyed dancing to the live music of Phil ‘in the Blanks till midnight.
The St. Simon community came out to support the auction with 320 guests attending – thank you to each and everyone of you for coming to the auction, buying the tickets, and bidding. Because of your generous purchases, the auction made over and estimated $185,000! Wow!! We also want to thank the donors of the auction items, parties, underwriting, advertising, raffle purchases, and ticket sales.
The proceeds include over $36,000 for Fund-A-Need which will be used for iPads in the classrooms.
The remaining funds will be used to support the following:
• Facilities projects for campus improvements
• Parish Life Group needs and events
• 10% will be donated to the St. Simon Teacher Fund
• 5% will be used as outreach in our Parish partnering with St. Julie’s Tijuana Social Justice Trip & Building Project.

Our Venetian Masquerade would not have been possible without the many wonderful, dedicated, and talented volunteers and the support of the St. Simon parish and school staff…Grazie Molto!
Thank You to all who contributed to the success of “Venetian Masquerade” by donating auction items, services, parties, underwriting, and advertising!
