The Prayer Shawl Ministry uses yarn to create beautiful prayer shawls to comfort and warm those in need. For instance: those working through cancer treatment, significant illness, the loss of a loved one--people who would benefit from being wrapped in prayers and love. All shawls are blessed before going out to individuals. After the prayer shawl is no longer needed, if it remains in good condition, then it is passed onto another who needs the warmth, prayers and love.
Wonderful St. Simon Prayer Shawl Ministry knitters and crocheters meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month in the church's Holy Family Room (formerly, the cry room). On the first Tuesday of the month, the group meets from 1:00-2:30 p.m.
All are welcome.
Knitters need: knitting needles size 11 or 13, three skeins of yarn and prayers for health.
Crocheters need: a size K hook, yarn and prayers for joy.
Monetary donations are welcome for this lovely ministry, to help defray the costs of the labels and special soft yarn -- please drop any donations off at the Church office marked "Prayer Shawl."
