Becoming Catholic for Children or RCIA Adapted for Children

Children's R.C.I.A.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) for Children is a process for children over the age of 7 who have not yet been Baptized. It is modeled on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). In keeping with the current Church practice these children celebrate Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Together with others of the same age children meet each week at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday Mornings. The initiation process works towards a deeper understanding of our faith and lays the foundation for continual faith formation. Children study the Sunday readings and prepare to celebrate the sacraments. Parents are encouraged to attend the Sunday sessions with their child(ren). The RCIA for Children is generally a full calendar year process.
