Serra Club Mountain View

Our objectives are to foster and promote vocations to the Catholic priesthood and religious life, and to encourage our members to fulfill their own Christian vocations to service. We are dedicated to spiritual growth, continuing Catholic adult education, warm fellowship, and the encouragement of Church vocations. Serra International chartered its first Serra club in 1935 in Seattle, Washington to help meet the Church's needs for informed Catholic lay leaders who understand and live their own Christian vocations to service and for dedicated priests and religious. We continue that work today.

We meet every second and fourth Thursday at St. Simon. On the second Thursday we meet at noon in the Simon Room and have a catered lunch followed by a speaker. On the fourth Thursday we meet at 6:00 p.m. for Mass in the parish chapel, followed by a catered dinner and speaker in the Simon Room. The program consists of a short business meeting (announcements), a speaker (usually a Priest, Brother, or Sister) who talks about their vocation, their work and current Church topics. We also have an annual Christmas Gathering and a meeting (Mass and dinner) at The Los Altos Jesuit Retreat Center or St. Patrick’s Seminary in the spring.

The Mountain View Serra Club is comprised of parishioners from St. Nicholas, St. Williams, St. Simon, St. Anathasias, St. Joseph of Mountain View, St. Cyprian, Resurrection, and St. Martin. You are invited to attend one of our meetings and to join the Serra Club.
